Getting Here

Norwich Cathedral is located in the Cathedral Close in the centre of Norwich. On foot, the main entrance points to Cathedral Close are via Tombland, Bishopgate and from the Riverside Walk.

Arriving to see Dippy by car

Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate parking for general visitors in the Cathedral Close. However, there are several car parks nearby, including St Helen’s Wharf and Rose Lane. There are also Park and Ride services which bring people into the city centre by bus from various locations on the outskirts of Norwich.

Staying safe during your visit

Visit Britain and Visit England have awarded Norwich Cathedral with the We're Good To Go industry standard and consumer mark to reassure visitors that the Cathedral adheres to Government and public health guidance with regards to Covid-19.

Good to go Safe travels

Visitors will be required to provide their contact details when they arrive, either using the NHS app or by passing your details onto us. To reduce queuing, please download the app before you arrive.

Food and Drink

Food and drink should inspire and delight in new ways, in new places and for more people. Jarrold has taken over the Refectory Café and is also offering refreshments in the Cathedral's Cloister during Dippy's visit.

Dino Stores

Our two Dino Stores are packed full of lots of great souvenirs for you to remember your visit, including official Dippy on Tour merchandise and other prehistoric-inspired delights!

Accessible for all

At Norwich Cathedral we aim to ensure that all of our visitors receive a warm welcome and leave having had a positive experience. The Dippy exhibition has been designed to be fully wheelchair accessible and visitors have the same access to disabled parking badges and accessible toilets as general Cathedral visitors.

Please note that due to damage caused by flooding, both of of the Cathedral's lifts are currently out of order. We are working hard to ensure that the lifts are fixed as soon as possible and in the meantime will be offering an alternative accessible route through the Dippy exhibition.
